How to collect diagnostic logs

The SQLdoctor diagnostic logs are used by the SQLdoctor development team to diagnose customer specific issues.  There are times when the SQLdoctor development team or tech support will ask a customer to collect this information.  The following is an outline of the process that should be used to collect the logs:

From the main SQLdoctor UI, click the ‘Help’ drop down menu button Diag2 How to collect diagnostic logs in the top right hand corner below the close application button (outlined in red below):

Select the ‘About Idera SQL doctor’ menu item:

The following dialog will be displayed:

Click the ‘Collect Logs’ button in the bottom left hand corner of this dialog:

The following message will be displayed only if your active server has an analysis result file:

You should select ‘Yes’ if you want to include recommendation information from the previous analysis of the active server.  Otherwise, select ‘No’.

At this point, the diagnostic information is being packaged into a zip file and move to the user desktop.  The following dialog will be displayed while the information is collected:

When this process is complete, the following message will be displayed showing the location of the zipped diagnostic information:

The zip file created on your desktop can then be emailed to Idera Tech Support or Development for further research.
